In the Community

Girl Scouts of Nassau County Logo

Long Island Temps is proud to have a member of our staff serve as a Delegate to the Council for Nassau County Girl Scouts and Scout Leader for the past thirteen years. Through this organization our staff has volunteered at soup kitchens, the Ronald McDonald House, and senior centers, as well as actively participating in Sandy Relief efforts.

United Way Logo

As parents we understand the importance of a sound, nurturing educational atmosphere so students can thrive. That’s why Long Island Temps participates in United Way’s annual “Stuff-A-Bus Campaign” for underserved school districts. Collectively, we make a difference in the lives of less fortunate children by providing them with essential school supplies to support their academic success.

As career development specialists, the Long Island Temps team voluntarily conducts interactive workshops for undergraduate students at local colleges. We provide guidance in resume preparation, interviewing strategies, and techniques needed for a jobseeker to market themselves in today’s workplace. Long Island Temps helps students to prepare for, and navigate through, the often complex career path taken to achieve professional goals.

Long Island Temps is privileged to have members of their team serving and protecting the community as EMTs for local volunteer fire departments. This role requires extreme dedication and often long hours after a busy day's work. As an agency we support our staff members' involvement and greatly respect the degree of commitment demonstrated by firefighters and medics throughout Long Island.

Island Harvest Logo

We proudly support Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. Long Island Temps sets up stations in local office buildings to collect food for those unable to provide their families with a balanced meal. In addition to this effort, members of our staff partnered with Island Harvest during the aftermath of Sandy’s devastation to help stamp out hunger.

For the past three years Long Island Temps has participated in JDRF’s “Walk to Cure Diabetes” which raises funds for millions of people living with, and affected by, Type 1 Diabetes. We are dedicated to supporting this national organization and the research needed to find a cure for such a widespread disease.

LI2DAY Logo

Long Island Temps is a special event sponsor of LI2DAY which funds grassroots breast cancer organizations in Long Island. Through walks, concerts and an array of special events LI2DAY donates 100% of funds raised to local residents affected by breast cancer. Donations received are disbursed to vital programs that assist in medical expenses, transportation, prosthetics, wigs and other costs incurred by patients, as well as research and education needed to battle this disease.

North Shore LIJ Logo

The Center for HOPE, part of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, is a place of healing for children and families. Their mission is to support bereaved individuals coping with profound grief. Holiday season is a particularly difficult time which is why staff from Long Island Temps attends seasonal functions. We are a friendly new face to children by playing games together, reading stories and sharing our own life experiences. Additionally, Long Island Temps collects and distributes gifts that raise smiles from children and adolescents alike.
